Welcome to my small part of the internet!

This site was created by me.. John Newcombe not only as "my space on the web", but also as a showcase of my interests and as a selfless showcase of some of my work. I also will make that ubiquitous promise to update the information regularly, but where have you heard that before?

My Background:
Computer Artist at work...Newcombe and AssociatesThis site was originally created to host the site for my small business accounting practice, called Newcombe and Associates. We provided financial, tax and accounting services to the small office/home office community in the Greater Toronto area. However in May of 1997 I decided to "reposition myself and I took the plunge into the Information Technology field, with the hope of combining my background in finance and managementITI-Information Technology Institute - www.iti.ca with the phenomenal power of technology. I completed an intensive nine month program at ITI-Information Technology Institute and in March of 1998 I headed south to take a position with a consulting firm in Detroit, Michigan. In February, 2001 I moved to Boston, Massachusetts to become the Trainer for Accrue Software. I provide training for the users of our web Analyitics packages - yes, I help people set up systems to let big brother watch what you do on the net - but it is not a sinister as it sounds. If you would like more details on my background please take a look at my on-line resume -- I am always looking for interesting offers (hint, hint)...

A sculler at sunset...

In addition to my work I am also an avid rower. When I was in Toronto, I rowed at the Argonaut Rowing Club -- the second oldest rowing club in Canada having been founded in 1873. I would like to claim that the rower above is me, sculling quietly up the Humber River, but alas it is not. Rowing is not just a summer sport, there is an active indoor rowing series run by Concept II makers of world famous blades and the equally infamous "ergs" (or ergometers). For more information on the indoor rowing circuit please visit Concept II.Concept II

By the way if you were looking for that "other" John Newcombe - the site for his tennis camp is www.lone-star.net/newks...
